After recording My Daddy Planted This Tree in Nov. 2011, just 3 months into Olympus Mons'existence, the band knew it had an expiration date approaching in July 2012. With the end in sight we decided to make the most of it. We started by playing a bunch of shows in Erie,Pa and Buffalo and a few in our hometown. It was fun but a certain night determined the end of that version of the band. Now we were pissed and ready to destroy faces. Southern Rock is the result of that fateful night.
The shows continued but with a new ferocity and nastiness but by May things were nearing the end and things got difficult. We decided enough was enough. However my brother was determined to get us to lay down these new songs before it's true conclusion. So we did, and I am so happy he talked us into it or this whole album would be lost. Turn it up loud!
